Where theatre and sport collide: Michael Billington on Darts

For those of you that haven’t already seen this morning’s edition of The Guardian, I’d highly encourage you to pay a trip the newspaper’s website. Over the next couple of days, there is a fabulous feature in the paper’s G2 section, where the arts critics and sports writers swap roles for the day.

Likely to be of most interest to theatre lovers is Michael Billington’s trip to the darts, which you can find here – a very entertaining read.

You can also find arts critics writing about horse-racing, football, cricket and motorcycle racing!

The roles will be reversed tomorrow as the sports writers review the arts! They’ll be covering art,  classical music, opera and rock music! I’m particularly looking foward seeing what football writer Kevin McCarra thought of his trip to a Finish contemporary dance show!

Unfortunately, none of the sports writers will be watching a show at the theatre, so maybe that’s one for next time…
